It all begins with an idea.
I’ve seen it from both sides of the desk. The college search and application process is more complicated and competitive than ever. As a former admissions officer, I have read 6,000+ applications, made highly selective decisions, interviewed hundreds of students, and served on admissions committees learning the secrets.
Now, instead of spending most of my day denying students, I get to focus on the best part:
coaching students through an exciting process of self-discovery, ultimately ending in finding great fit schools and admission.
Why Me?
I approach with best fit, not necessarily school prestige. Think about compatibility for college but also look ahead for outcomes…which schools will truly set you up with career success?
I have actual experience as an admissions officer at a high selective school. Many private college consultants have never actually worked behind the admissions scene. Further, my experience is as recent as 2025, so I am up to date on current trends and the ever changing political landscape including affirmative action, executive action against foreign applicants and students, new test-optional policies, and political unrest on college campuses. I am still plugged in with former friends and colleagues at top colleges along with high school guidance counselors, so I know the inside scoop before the public.
Work for a prominent college prep company. Have access to resources of a big company, but can use the information to help the student on a personal, individual basis.
Will not sell you frivolous “packages”, promote pay-to-play resume building activities, or any of the other “noise”. Instead give you honest, direct, and candid feedback, and work with each student on a flexible and personalized basis. I bill by the hour and do not lock you into any packages so we can engage in a confident working relationship.
About me
Originally from Westchester, NY, I grew up playing in various bands, running, and working on local fishing boats. At Bowdoin College, I double majored in Government and Legal Studies and Environmental Studies with a focus in Fisheries Policy. My extracurricular interests at Bowdoin grew as I founded the fishing club, played bass in the school’s jazz ensemble, managed and played gigs with my personal band, and competed at the NCAA level in cross country and track. I worked on-campus jobs as a sound engineer for live music events and as a senior interviewer in the admissions office, interviewing prospective students. My undergraduate experience was the perfect fit. My passions flourished, diversified, and dovetailed with each other in and out of the classroom.
After graduation, I spent time working for a fly fishing manufacturer, served as assistant director of a land trust, and then returned to Bowdoin as an admissions officer.
Now, I work as an admissions consultant and college coach.
